The resort of Saint François Longchamp is located at an altitude of 1650 metres, in the middle of a beautiful landscape surrounded by mountain peaks, between the Lauzière mountain range, the Madeleine pass and the Massif Cheval Noir. Thanks to the ski lift, you can also visit Lake Bleu et Blanc. Another place definitely worth a visit is the glacier l'Étendard. This one is not to be missed: The Festival de la Lune Bleue (the Festival of the Blue Moon) that takes place in July and the village festival in August. Close to the residence are several shops (about 50 metres) and an aquatic centre, Le Forum des Eaux Bernard Hinault, where you can swim and enjoy balneotherapy, in other words, relax. Ski area - Minimum altitude: 1450 m - Maximum altitude: 2550 m. The ski area 'Le Grand Domaine' includes the villages of Saint François Longchamp, Valmorel and Doucy Combelouvière and it is one of the largest ski areas in Savoie. Its approximately 165km of sunny slopes offer a level of difficulty for all types of skiers. The Saint François Longchamp ski area itself is a bit smaller and more suitable for family skiing. Nevertheless, it is a lovely area and will certainly satisfy less active skiers as well. If necessary, the slopes are provided with extra snow by the snow cannons (315 in the "Grand Domaine" ski area). Cross-country skiers, for you there is the "grand coin zone" at Montaimant, here 40km of marked cross-country trails are waiting for you. They connect cute little mountain villages like Montpascal and Le Chatel. The best way to discover the forests and hamlets of Savoie or the mountain pass Chaussy. The resort also offers 2 snowparks for free-riders, as well as 2x boardercross with railings, half pipes and moguls.
