Nice enough, but not quite as advertised!

The first thing you need to know about this campsite is that it's basically on the side of a hill! If you know the region, it's probably of little surprise to you. However, if like me, you weren't familiar with the area then it might come as somewhat of a shock to find it's a fair hike from the reception/bar/pool... area to your accommodation depending where your plot is. The experience of staying on plot 1 (a stone's throw from the camp centre) would be quite different to that of staying on plot 100 (at the top of a fairly steep hill).
The cabin itself was nice enough, clean, well equipped and with a decent air con unit. The position of our cabin wasn't the best; not only was it at the top of the aforementioned hill (we definitely got our steps in) it was completely shaded for most of the day to the point of needing to have the light on whatever the time.
The pool area was lovely, and the kids enjoyed the slides, pool games and club dances. The website photos showed an inflatable activity run, but that wasn't something we saw whilst we were there. Frustratingly sun loungers and parasols were screwed to the floor so grabbing some shade in hotter parts of the day could be a challenge.
The bar was ok when it was open, but it closed in the afternoon (1pm until 4pm) at a time when you just might like to grab a drink or an ice-cream! The snack bar again offered quite limited opening hours and a somewhat limited menu. We only had fries from there one evening - they weren't the best - so can't really comment on the quality of the food. Ordering for both was at a single point at the bar with usually only one member of staff serving, so queues to be served were often long.
The site is advertised as having a shop. I think the term "shop" has been used very loosely. There was no fresh produce available and extremely limited other items (see attached photo). You could order bread to be collected the next day - the sign said to order before 6pm but how long before 6pm they stopped taking orders varied. Croissants and pain au chocolat were available to order alongside the bread, but on the 2 occasions we had them, they were overcooked.
The entertainment was hit and miss. We took our youngest down to join the mini disco one evening where the staff delivered just 2 songs before bringing the mascot out for a photo and then promptly disappearing. The site is advertised as having both French and English speaking staff; whilst this was the case in reception, it didn't particularly extend beyond that. As adults we spoke enough French to get by, but it was difficult for the kids to join in activities when everything was delivered in French (and yes, I'm aware we were in France, but Eurocamp run sites tend to be multilingual).
