We return year after year!

This summer we shall be returning to Camping Le Lac for the 4th year running! Our 3 children - now age 11, 8 and 4 - wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! The campsite and surrounding area has everything you need for a lovely holiday. The campsite has plenty to do - swimming in the pool, taking a dingy... out to the island on the lake, playing tennis, football, crazy golf or boule. They run activities for children for an hour or so in the morning, afternoon and evening. These activities aren't on a big scale, in fact i like that it is back to basics stuff like playing cards, quizzes, a treasure hunt, football matches or craft. My childrens' favourite is when they get huge sheets of plastic laid on the grassy slope between the lake and the pool, it's drizzled with slippery washing up liquid and the children have the time of their lives whizzing down it! There is a big pool and a small one for toddlers so if like us you have children with a range of ages you can easily keep your eye on them all. The restaurant has a good value menu and a beautiful setting where you can sit by the lake under the willow trees. The facilities are always clean and we have never had to wait long to use them, even when the campsite is busy. We have experienced both camping and staying in one of their on site mobile homes, both experiences were great. The village of Plazac is just up the road where there is a small organic supermarket, a boulangerie and a cafe. There are loads of places to visit, too many to mention here! Our only word of warning is that it does get really cold at night in the Dordogne. We also usually have a few days of cloud or rain so take appropriate clothing. It's no bad thing as the rest of the time has usually been in the 30s and so cooler days are the days we go to visit towns and do site seeing things - means we can drag the children away from the campsite without too much protest!
On all our visits we have met very few English people staying on the site; their main clientele are French and Dutch. We are always telling friends about this wonderful campsite and promised Nathalie and Pierre that we shall drum them up some British visitors!
A wonderful family run, typical French campsite. You won't be disappointed!
