My family and I holidayed here over August, and we very much enjoyed our stay. The restaurant staff were very friendly and professional (especially considering their age), the pools were very impressive, the entertainment was cute, the caravan was sufficient for our needs, and the surrounding areas were... authentic and endearing. The adjacent beach was blissful as it's so shallow that one can treat it as akin to a warm swimming pool. The surrounding walks were very pleasant, and the entire area had quite a relaxed feel. I also appreciated how it gave a glimpse into real life: there was large industry to the east, and the local town was industrious and very run-of-the-mill. However, I wouldn't see that as a negative because it gave insight into the real Italy, and we did day trips to Venice and Trieste anyway, so we weren't confined to the local area.
I've briefly skimmed some of the negative reviews on here, a number of which seem to come from fellow British tourists. I think it's important that I address them as they're slightly misleading and a bit unfair. Firstly, yes, the caravan is small, but it is a caravan and not a rented cottage. The whole point of travelling abroad is to be out of one's accommodation in the hot weather and to enjoy one's surroundings, so I don't think this is a big deal. The staff were definitely not rude. Their English was quite poor, but that's not an issue as they shouldn't be expected to be fluent in a foreign language in their own country. One partially legitimate point is that the site is quite isolated from the nearest town, so the costs of a taxi in the absence of having a car (which we had to incur) did become quite exorbitant. However, that's not really the fault of the campsite, and it's not too expensive to just eat in the restaurant each day (under €10 for a pizza), so the experience works if one just adapts. The facilities could be a bit more accommodating as the on-site shop is closed from 12 to 17, but then you could just plan and ensure you get in before it closes. The demographic is very Italian, and I get the impression many were locals for whom this was their weekend place. They were noisy and their caravans weren't in the best of conditions, but it's their place and we were just visitors, so it's not for me to judge. If anything, hearing Italian loudly spoken added to the authenticity!
Overall, it was a lovely stay. In terms of improvement, asking campers to pay €11 to rent a sunbed for the day was a bit cheeky and some of the facilities could be improved somewhat. (Floor toilets are very impractical.) I'd recommend it!
