Perched on a rocky outcrop, Cabriès reveals steep medieval streets that crisscross the various houses and give the village its very special character. Its unavoidable castle, the last residence of the painter Edgar Mélik, houses a permanent exhibition of his works, as well as all the Gallo-Roman vestiges discovered by the commune.
On the coast, Marseille, its Old Port and its special atmosphere, the Canebière, the Panier district full of charm, Notre Dame de la Garde, l'Estaque... without forgetting the island of the Château d'If and Frioul. A few kilometers away, you can visit the inescapable calanques of Cassis and La Ciotat.
Further up, Aix-en-Provence, a city whose charm is often praised, and the Sainte-Victoire mountain: here, we enter the heart of Provence, on the side of the Alpilles massif, where the famous village of Baux-de-Provence is perched.
Joining the Rhone River, we go to Aubagne in the footsteps of Marcel Pagnol, then stop in Arles, with its Roman vestiges and its markets, before reaching the Camargue, the preserved natural spaces, the horses and birds, the Vaccarès pond, the Sainte-Marie de la Mer, Martigues, the Salins de Giraud.
Thanks to its generous climate, the Bouches du Rhône can be visited all year round, and one can be surprised to linger in the sun on a fine sandy beach in the middle of winter.
