Numerous walking and cycling routes have been mapped out from the park, but a car trip along beautiful spots is also possible. Bicycles and electric bikes can be rented at the park at reception. Venture into nature and unwind or play a game of petanque. Landschapspark Striks Erve is also very suitable for horse lovers. In the vicinity of the park you will find various bridle paths.

The park does not have its own swimming pool, but in nearby Balkburg you will find the Heuveltjesbosbad swimming pool. The open-air swimming pool in De Wijk is also recommended for a day of water fun. On rainy days, you can visit the indoor swimming pools in Meppel or Staphorst.

The park is located in the village of IJhorst on the border of Overijssel and Drenthe. From the spacious park, you can walk straight into the beautiful countryside. In the Dwingelerveld, De Weerribben and Boswachterij Staphorst nature reserves, you can walk, cycle or sail to your heart's content. Enjoy the flora and fauna during one of the marked walking or cycling routes. Apart from vast forests, the area offers numerous picturesque villages. If you like to visit a cosy market or an interesting museum, you can easily get to Giethoorn, Staphorst, Zuidwolde or Meppel. The park is also a good base for fun trips with the children. Visit the stork station De Lokkerij in De Wijk or Museum Staphorst. A visit to Verkeerspark Assen, Attarctiepark Slagharen, Avonturenpark Hellendoorn or Open Air Museum Orvelte is also possible during your stay at this peaceful park.
