Leiwen is around 195 kilometres from Maastricht, in the famous wine region along the Moselle. Want to get out and about? Then take a boat trip on the Moselle or visit a wine tasting. The medieval wine town of Bernkastel-Kues is also well worth a visit. In most of the Moselle villages, you will come across castles in addition to the characteristic half-timbered houses. From these structures, the view over the river is magnificent. In the villages you can also enjoy the wine festivals, which the inhabitants of the Moselle region celebrate from early spring until late autumn. Those who want to visit a museum can visit the aircraft museum in Hermeskeil. This private museum consists of four halls with a treasure trove of aircraft and aircraft engines.
