Our second home - family camping at its best!

We've been coming to Camping La Siesta in Salou every year since September 2021 – and since last year, even twice a year. That says it all: for us, this place is more than just a holiday destination – it has truly become a second home.
The whole site is very well maintained, the sanitary facilities... are always clean, and the large pool area offers relaxation and fun for both kids and adults. The location is ideal: just a short walk to the beach or to the center of Salou, perfect for strolling around or enjoying an evening out.
Everything you need is also right on-site: a small supermarket, tasty takeaway options like roast chicken and pizza, and a buffet restaurant if you feel like being served instead of cooking.
A true highlight for our children over the years has always been the kids’ club – they loved the team and always ran off independently and came back with big smiles. Sadly, this year, some of their favorite staff members were no longer there. Understandable, of course – but because of that, they didn’t participate as much this time.
What makes La Siesta especially great is not just the facilities or the location – it’s the people and the atmosphere. Over the years, we’ve made many friendships, even with Spanish long-term campers, who welcome us warmly every time.
A perfect example of that feeling: This year, when we arrived, we first sat down with our neighbors who greeted us with welcome drinks – we didn’t even set up the caravan or the awning until later in the afternoon. That’s the kind of relaxed vibe we love.
Another major plus is the sense of safety on the campsite. There's security at the entrance, and fellow campers look out for each other. Unless we’re heading out to La Pineda or Cambrils, we often don’t even lock the camper – that’s how comfortable we feel here.
One small downside we’ve noticed is the topic of late check-out. The goodbye emails always mention that you can ask about it – but in the past two years, we were charged for a full extra night just to leave a few hours later. This year, we didn’t even bother asking and simply left about 30 minutes late (around 12:30 p.m.). It’s a pity, especially since the overall pricing is very fair, especially for longer stays of two to three weeks, where you automatically get a discount.
We do miss a small gesture of appreciation for returning guests – a simple thank you or extra touch would go a long way after so many stays.
Still – we’ll definitely be back! Despite a few small points, Camping La Siesta remains our absolute favorite place for a relaxing, family-friendly and safe vacation on the Costa Dorada.
A heartfelt thank you to the whole team – and especially to Veronika, the lovely cleaning lady at the showers and toilets, whom our girls have adored since day one! Also a big thanks to Xavier from the bar, a long-standing and familiar face, and to Sebastian and Jimmy from the restaurant team, who have been there for years as well. It's always great to see familiar people again. We also want to mention Oriol, Lucia, and Eloi – team members who truly stood out and have stayed in our hearts.
Thank you very much – and see you all soon!
