Heidepark Veluwschkarakter is a recreation park located in the village of Vierhouten, municipality of Nunspeet. Ultimate enjoyment for nature lovers.
Facilities - Heidepark Veluwschkaracter
Surrounded by heath and forest, the Veluwe is pure enjoyment. At Heidepark Veluwschkaracter, various play equipment is available to keep the children entertained. There is also an air trampoline if they need to expend a little more energy. It is possible to rent various types of bicycles during your stay, as long as you inform the reception 1 day in advance.
Catering facilities - Heidepark Veluwschkaracter
Several restaurants are located 1 or 2 minutes' drive from the park. For example, visit Restaurant Bistro & Brasserie Novice or De Boerenschuur for a nice dinner, or Herberg Tante Sjaan for your brunch.
Surroundings - Heidepark Veluwschkaracter
There are endless walking and cycling routes across the beautiful Veluwe. Still not seen enough nature? Then visit one of the oldest botanical gardens in the Netherlands: Heementuin de Heimanshof. Also around the park and Vierhouten itself there are many cultural stories to discover from the Second World War. Apart from this, there is also a possibility to plan an adventurous day out. Visit Paleis het Loo or Hanseatic Cities, for example. For the kids, it might be more fun to spend a day at Klimbos Ermelo. This climbing forest has more than 80 different obstacles and zipline courses. There is also entertainment for the little ones with a climbing course between 1.00m and 1.30m. Rather not exert yourself and just walk around? Visit the Apenheul with over 300 monkeys in a beautiful green park! The Apenheul has various shows and activities throughout the day to make it something more exciting.

Positive experience:
Beautiful location, neatly maintained, quiet park (in December), very friendly manager/employees, welcoming.

Areas for improvement:
It was not because of the park, that really needs to be said, but unfortunately it was still quite noisy regarding fireworks. At check-out, an employee confirmed my opinion. Apparently it had never been this bad before. I obviously cannot blame the park for this. They still dealt with this themselves.

Positive experience:
Luxurious chalets and clean.
Beautifully located. Endless cycling through the woods.
Delicious dinner at the Boerenschuur opposite park.
For the peace seekers among us.

Points of improvement:
Paths were gravel and bad. Full of holes that stay full of water after a rain.
No bread service or supermarket.

Very quiet and necessary things within walking distance. Like restaurants and supermarket. Plenty of space and nice clean chalet.

Positive experience:
Lovely peaceful setting and very luxurious accommodation. Nicely furnished with cosy veranda

Areas of improvement:
Missed towels in the cottage. Had assumed these were present or could possibly rent a package separately. Had to rush to shop to buy towels now.
Also had difficulty finding the walking route to the moors. Didn't think this was indicated well with signs or something.
