a lovely camping ground for families with small children

This is the first experience in a camping village in Italy. Usually we rent out an apartment or collonica close to seaside. Our kids (7 and 10) loved it. We liked it a little less. There was a lot for the children to do and the village was small enough that we really felt safe leaving them on their... own to play with their newly found friends. I found the biggest fault that this village has is the service isn't consistent. Firstly, the restaurant. Service wasn't too bad although just about every day they either made a mistake on what we ordered or were super slow getting the various plates out so that we were all eating together. The food at the restaurant ok but again very inconsistent. You could order the same dish three times and each time it was different (no salt, over cooked, no spices, over-spiced burnt...ect...) They just couldn't get it right! There is a mini market which is very well supplied but the service was soooooo slow. One person cutting the bread, the cold cuts, at the cashier...it would take a half hour just waiting your turn to get some sandwiches made! The beach was super small (very narrow, only three rows of umbrellas) and by the end of the two weeks the tide started taking away what was left of the beach. The water is very low so the kids could go pretty far out and we didn't have to worry. For anyone into wind surfing it is your dream place. Lots of wind....lots and lots of wind....I ended up getting somewhat of an ear-ache from the wind! The funny thing is that in the village it is really pleasant but once you get onto the beach it is like walking into a wind tunnel. It could have been just our bad luck for those two weeks. The pool in the village is again nice for the children, but certainly not a place where adults can swim. It's enough just to sit in there. It is the size of an oversized sauna pool. Twenty kids in there and it is packed. My biggest complaint was not so much the animators....poor guys where out from early morning to late at night entertaining the children...more than anything else it was the actual CONTENT of "cabaret" nights which was at the very best very poor taste and at the very worst outright racist and sexist. I've never been so shocked by what I had seen and what was worse was that they were performing these awful skits in front of children aged 3 -12 for the most part with parents in the background feeling very uncomfortable. I plan to write to "animazione eventi" to complain and tell them they need a huge overhaul of their content which encouraged racism - inciting the kids to scream at this African house cleaner to "go back to africa!" (I swear to God my mouth hit the floor!). There was highly sexual content which was absolutely NOT suitable for children and even one skit where this husband who finds out his wife is cheating on him and he starts hitting her!!! WHAT???? Totally unacceptable and honest to God I don't know what kept me from telling them to just stop! I truly don't blame the animators as they most probably were executing what was taught to them during their training....but I hate to think of what the foreigners especially some of the black guests in the camping site might have thought of Italians and their "sense of humour" which was totally inappropriate! (I can only hope they didn't understand a word)
