Sagres was the departure point for the first caravels, which would bring new worlds to the world during the Portuguese discoveries.

Here too, 1 km from the beach, there's a pretty campsite in a pine forest, with good shops and a welcoming atmosphere. Mobile homes and bicycles are available for hire. The surroundings invite you to go for peaceful walks, accompanied by the blue sea, to discover the beaches.

In the surrounding area, the castles of Silves, Aljezur and Alcoutim evoke the Arab presence in the area, and you'll also find many good examples of art and ceramics in the Baroque churches. Cabo de São Vicente is remarkable for its history and great natural beauty. Sagres also offers a rich gastronomy based on fresh fish. We recommend grilled sargue, not forgetting barnacles, which are served hot.
