No longer a 5 star site - Sad to see the run down state of many aspects of this once great campsite.

I have recently returned from a 8 night family holiday in Domaine de la breche.
As a family 20yrs+ ago we had very enjoyable holidays in France with Keycamp/Eurocamp, 6 in France and one in Italy. This year we visited with my daughter and her family (two boys age 7 and 9). I recommended the Domaine... de la Breche site as we had a large group holiday there many years ago when it was run by Keycamp. I looked on the website and read the reviews. Some reviews were negative.
There was no organised childrens club for older children, Basketball was on the timetable, my grandson went to play this but was not made welcome as staff were playing by themselves during the allocated time ! They played eventually with two children when I asked.
There were sessions in the pool which were quiet good but not advertised. There was no organised football sessions. (one of the reasons we went to this large campsite was the previous very good sessions for older children.)
The petting zoo as described on the website does not exist, there are 4 friendly goats at the back of the carpark behind a fence.
This is not now a 5* campsite. The information on the website bears little resemblance to the site in its current state.
The premium lodge was comfortable but not as clean as expected : used tissues on the bed, dust behind the toilet, stained cup X 2 in the cupboard and a BBQ which had not been cleaned.
Sun beds and chairs were piled up under near trees and very dirty - I have to retrieve these and clean them.
The shower / toilet block: This was used a lot by customers as toilets in the lodges are very small. The area around the block is overgrown and the pathways unkempt, cobwebs in all corners, the toilets and showers are clean but there is no handwash and the hairdryers do not work.
Parents of small children complained about the playground which had weeds (thorny ones) growing in the sand where children played with bare feet.
We used the tennis courts but not the crazy golf as the course was largely overgrown and the holes had leaves all over them. Nobody was using this, it bears no resemblance to the pictures on the website.
I went to meet my grandsons at the tennis court, as they were cycling I found them in the gardeners area which had large open gates and was full of old dusty gardening equipment and an old tractor which my 7yr old grandson found very interesting !! This was very unsafe. I closed the gate myself and told the children not to go in there.
There are numerous picnic tables on site which are delipidated and dangerous.
The restaurant is closed. The Eurocamp website says this is temporary, the restaurant website states that is permanently closed.
There is a take away service on site which is chaotic all of the time it is open. Orders are taken and not cooked until they are chased up. The average wait for food is frequently over an hour and customers wait and queue many orders are not filled until I asked several times. The Pizzas are good but we were not prepared to wait where there is no system for fulfilling orders.
The pony club area is run down to the extent that it looks deserted, the times on the note are arbitrary , reception staff have no idea about the programmes/ timetables for children's activities. (see pics).
Customers in the next lodge to me said she was not happy to send her small child to the mini club as it looked run down and dirty on the outside. .
The bouncy castle is unsupervised and children of all ages play together, children in nappies (and without nappies !) and very big kids playing together. The area around the castle is dirty and has torn carpet, the chairs are dirty and the castle itself is dirty.
The children had a great holiday however the adults in the group were very disappointed by all of the above issues and the site was unsafe in many aspects. The pool area is too small for the numbers of people using it.
The children enjoyed the water slides however I was concerned by the unsupervised nature of these and none of the warning signs were adhered to. Not enough sunbeds, customers queuing for 40 mins to book beds in the morning.
I am aware that Marvilla Parks run this site but I booked through Eurocamp.
