Over promises Under delivers
Not good value, not very friendly, disappointing stay
Chose this site via Pitchup.com mainly as the advertising made it appear to be really nice family site with large pool, water park, washing machines and good atmosphere. Unfortunately this site over promised and under... preformed. The pool is tiny, and I mean Tiny, the "water park" is one slide, (hardly a park) the washing machineS are one machine only, which you have to que to use (€4.50), the toilets and showers, whist ok, are far from what could be described as clean, not that they are dirty, just appear grim due to the poor maintenance. Paint peeling off, black mold and green algae on the ceilings, rusty metal grills, cracked missing tiles, cracked porcelain, rotten wood, missing hooks, glass covers falling off wall lights, generally just very old and neglected. The hot water in showers "luke warm" with push button lasting 25 seconds, the hot water in washup area was "stone cold" at every visit. Paper towels are provided in the toilets area, but often empty. There are no toilet seats, which is quite common in a lot of sites now, I think maybe something from Covid? But this means the pan and cistern get muddy footprints where people straddle to do their business. The sites is on a slope so motorhome owners will need levelling ramps and be aware, there is no drive-over gray waste on fresh water fill hose. We used the water tap next to our pitch to fill the 60l tank, painful as the push button delivered 5 seconds of slow water per push. The site advertises Wi-fi at every pitch, whilst strictly true, in reality it's poor strength, can't even read Facebook comments without it dropping out. Planning our next stop was near impossible.
So what about the experience I hear you ask. We arrived after a 3 hour drive at 2:30, drove up to the barrier, it clearly wasn't going to just open so I jumped out to go to reception. Immediately a guy came over shouting reception closed, pointing at the door sign saying closed 13:00-15:00, ok, no problems, they have to have their lunch sometime, so I thought we will park up at the side and have a bite ourselves, then maybe by a look round while we wait. After 3 hours driving I needed the toilet so I wondered across to the toilet block, I got a few feet into the site and again the guy came over challenging what I was doing and saying I shouldn't use the toilet as we hadn't booked in because reception was closed. I didn't really appreciate his tone, I didn't see the issue as we had booked, paid deposit and waiting for them to open reception.
Although the pool is disappointingly small, we wondered over for a swim anyway. We passed through the gate, showers as required and attempted to step into the pool, then all hell broke loose, the owner was shouting at me over the fence.( In French) Apparently I was wearing swimming shorts instead of speedos His demeanor was very rude and hostile, as if he expected me to know I was not allowed and that I was deliberately flouting the rules, I was shouted at as if it was a child doing the worst thing ever. If it was that important then they should tell you when you arrive, I found nothing in the Pitchup booking site, and after hard looking I could one small line on the campsite webpage saying for hygiene reasons shorts are forbidden. It seems purpose made lined swim shorts which keep your "bits" in place are unhygienic, (He muttered Covid at me as a reason) but the French guy next to me that dropped his shorts and swam in him Cal**n K***n underpants was considered hygienic and therefore ok to swim. I accept that if that's the law then I need to comply, but to be shouted at is unacceptable, he seems to forget the golden rule of hospitality.... don't alienate the paying guests that feed you. He could have easily explained quietly, and in English as they list French and English as spoken on website although they never spoke English while we were there
But he didn't finish there, we went and sat on the sunbeds only to have him in our face again, snatching our flipflops and throwing them over the fence as apparently they are also banned. I didn't say anything to him about the fact he was wearing shoes (as he did everytime he entered the pool area). I wear flips at the pool and in showers to prevent vurucas ets, clearly they are not bothered about spreading such viruses.
It's a real shame the owners of this site have lost touch with the business they are running, I think it's a case of "can't see the woods for the trees" and they need to step back a moment and look at what the customer sees. The experience has left us not only not wanting to stay longer, but we won't be stopping there on our way home either, and certainly won't be recommending to anyone. Think carefully if you are considering this site and take my advice ....book elsewhere

Stayed last night on way to South France improvements yet again ! We have seen the owners work hard each year to develop site with dance and eating area under cover and lovely clean loos with toilet paper and soap ! What more could we ask welcoming and friendly with pool slides and bouncy castle.
We... even went on walk suggested by information pack this time well worth the short walk for view of the valley.
See you in 6 weeks xx

Good family run campsite in the heart of the countryside. Nice clean site with swimming pool and play area for children. There is a small bar area and entertainment most evenings, if this is your thing. The site could do with a little maintenence work to bring up to standard. The toilet/shower facitilies... are very basic and yes toilet roll/soap would be good, but as in a lot of French sites, you have to take your own. The site has a real mixture of pitches, some out in the open and a great wooded area if you prefer shelter. I loved the laid back feel of the owners, who were all very friendly and helpful despite not being able to speak english. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would certainly return here.

Booked in without fuss and shown to the home and adjacent tent pitch for approval and quickly settled in. Adequate utensils for use with the stove and microwave. No private charcoal BBQs allowed on site though ample communal ones and own gas are OK. Some entertainment most nights and some during the... day too. Three separate pools available with the larger middle pool heated. The slide is size limited and not for non swimmers. The kiddy pool is quite small and was cold. There is a bouncy castle and table football/ ping pong for the younger ones.Food was available on site and tasty. Available on an adjacent site were 2 tennis courts and a full size grass football pitch with 6 goals. (may not be available when the local team season starts).
