DON'T GO WITH YOUR CHILD IN JUNE!
14 July 2017 at 08:28:47
We stayed in Domaine Les Muriers in the period 24th of June - 3rd of July.
The accommodation was very nice. Everything was new. For this I give 4*. BUT There are a few negative aspects:
1. When we checked in, we noticed that we couldn't flash the water in one of the two toilets. I told the lady in the... reception about it, and she said she will send somebody to repair it. Until we checked out, nobody came. For this, I give them 1*.
2. Nobody told us we can make barbeque. We just saw the others have it. We found it by mistake the 6th day. For this, they have 2*.
3. They didn't have a mosquito net at the entrance, so we had to stay with the door closed every day. For this 1*.
4. We decided one day to go to the beach on foot. They said it is aprox. 500 m away. Not far. But don't try it! There is no road. You don't know if you should go left or right. And there is a big swamp, where my sandals go stuck and I had to walk in bare feet until the beach. And believe me, it is not comfortable at all. Again 1*. So I suggest to use the car until “Esprit Plage” and than walk 10-15 minutes to the beach.
5. We requested a mobile home in a quiet area. It was quiet, until the season started on Sunday, 2nd of June. They had Karaoke day until 1 in the morning. Very loud! Couldn't sleep at all. 1*
6. There was a small shop at the entrance (fresh bread and croissants) which was opened between 08:00 – 10:00 and 17:00 – 19:00. When the season started, they were open from 08:00 until 19:00 (or 20:00). For the bread and croissants, 5*. For the opening hours 1*.
The first day was OK. Sunny day. We went to the beach (by car!), which is OK (but the water very cold, couldn't go in) and also to the pool, which is very nice, also for small children.
The period we chose was not the perfect one. We had a cold weather (18 degrees during the night!) and very windy. Couldn't go to the beach at all (except 3 days, from 9!). And there is NO FACILITY for small children (our child is almost 3 years old). There is only a playground inside this complex, but not very nice/clean. The animation team started the season on the 2nd of July.
We searched everywhere around for children entertainment facilities, but everything was closed! The only "entertainment" for my child was to go one day to Carrefour and one day to Auchan. Sometimes to the pool if there was a bit of sun.
And there were also two toy shops for kids in Beziers: King Jouet and Le Grande Recre. That was another "entertainment" for our kid.
We found on the internet a great playground, Royal Kids, but it was closed! There was nobody around to ask when it will be opened.
We asked several people about places to entertain the people and everybody said: everything will be opened when the French kids are on holiday! Very nice! What about the tourists? They don't care?
We found another interesting indoor playground, Europark Indoor, but also closed. The opened on the 1st of July and until the day we left, we went there. This were the best days for our child.
So, think TWICE before you chose the place and period.
We really thought this was the best place for our child: sea, pool, sun and sleep. But it wasn't like this.
