We are leaving 3 days early!

I have been on many a Eurocamp and this one is awful. The site is about an hour and a quarter away from Lyon airport and if you are new to driving on the wrong side of the road be warned the roads are narrow, winding with a drop on the left quite often. It was a nerve wracking ride. Upon arrival the... email said put your car reg in so the barrier will work…we did that and pulled up at the barrier, nothing happened. Eventually we reversed out and parked in a spot. My husband traipsed over to the reception where they said you had to have a key code to get in the barrier! He started to walk away when he was called back only for the French receptionist to laugh with the queue and mock ‘it’s because he’s English!’ Insult number 1!
We drove down to our accommodation, a lodge that looks like it’s about to fall down, the decking beds u set foot, I reckon 2 years max and someone will fall through. Inside the area is small, fairly dirty and none of our pre booked towels and bedding were there. You have to fill in a checklist to say how everything is and upon checking the boiler it had no protective front!! You can see and touch the flames if you wanted and there is fire damage to the outside. I said no one is to put hot water on until it is reported!! Beds have thin foam coverings with big dips in the middle and flimsy slats underneath, if you are over 10 stone move very carefully because you can hear them cracking underneath. Sleep is a no go, the accommodation boasts air con but it is rubbish and only in the kitchen so doesn’t reach the bedrooms so it is a furnace. ONE room has a pull down big screen to allow the window to open and get a tiny breeze, in the main room though it didn’t have one so it is either sweat extra or open window wide and have all the bugs camp with you. You get about 3 inches either side of the bed so move slowly else you crash in to something! The toilet is very small but works, if you open the window however the neighbours can see you doing your daily business from their deck!!
Kitchen is so old and tired, cupboards don’t close and DONT USE THE KETTLE! We wondered why every coffee and chunks in the bottom….from the kettle(it is a whistling one in a gas stove so you can’t take a lid off to clean) I put my finger in the spout and and a sludge of black and white came out🤮 so we boiled the water in a saucepan from then on. No oven, toaster, coffee maker etc which were all listed in the email as well as free WiFi….the only WiFi is up by the pool and they don’t tell you it’s only free 30 mins a day and rubbish. We rented a box in the end £30 for 5 days.
Get to the pool on opening 10am as otherwise you have no chance of getting a sun bed. By 12 o’clock it was absolutely rammed with ppl and kids and the foreign kids are not shy about pushing your children out the way to go down slides first. There is a tiny shop snack bar and restaurant at the pool but a burger is £16!!! Chips are nice for £3.25. Pool is dated, one slide closed, sticky tape over cracks on others and the pool water is well below the water level line?!
There is nothing to do around here apart from the pool so it’s BUSY! It has a man made lake by the pool but it is dirty and has rubbish on the bottom. Yuck.
If you order croissants etc from the shop to pick up in the morning, prepare for them to be squashed in to obligation! Like pieces of paper. Eat the baguette within 2 hours otherwise it’s so hard you will break your teeth.
Entertainment is poor, water aerobics, a few family games but the host only speaks French so we didn’t join any as we had no idea what they were saying.
There is one supermarket a 5 min drive away but it is expensive I.e 4 chicken skewers £16 1 pepper £1.25.
There is nothing to do around the camp unless you drive at least 1hr 30.
We have now booked a hotel in Lyon for our final 2 nights 3 days as we can’t stay here anymore plus I’m sick of having cold showers and washing up with cold water, the boiler is a danger but the reception staff don’t care!
When leaving be prepared you have to clean everything! They have a stringent cleaning protocol to follow and if you miss something they will take lots of money off you! The nearest rubbish bin to take your bags is a million mile walk.
I doubt I’ll get a refund for the 3 days we are missing but I don’t care I just want to get out of here!!
Save your money, go somewhere else!!
