A Great Campsite

We arrived at Camping Fontisson much later than we had hoped, and even though the reception had closed, we were dealt with in a great way.
The original pitch we had been given did not work for our size of tent, but we were told to walk around the campsite and find one that was empty that did suit us.... In hindsight we made this decision a bit too quickly as we found that there were nicer pitches elsewhere on the camp. However, given the time of night we arrived and that we had to set up camp quickly, our pitch was great, very sheltered and just across the road from the ablutions block.
All the pitches are separated by either bushes or trees, so it does give you some privacy, however there are some that are more exposed than others. We did struggle a bit to put our tent up as the ground was really stony, plus the famous Provence wind did not really help.
As well as offering camping pitches, Camping Fontisson also offers mobile homes and chalets for anyone who wishes to use them.
They offer washing facilities in two locations, one in the main area of the campsite and another up the top near the reception. All are kept really clean and well maintained. If you visit - don't forget the toilet paper! As our pitch was so close to one of the ablution blocks, we did hear the occasionally slamming of doors when people were using the facilities but it was no real cause for concern.
My husband and I made use of the swimming pool most days, it was a great way to relax and cool down. They also had football/basketball court, tennis court, crazy golf, a play ground for small children and some gym equipment.
On the whole the campers were very friendly and respectful, and for the most part, we all just kept to ourselves. Sadly, towards the end of our stay, we did have to politely ask a group to keep the noise down, as they were talking and laughing really loudly at 12.30am just outside their chalet, which was across the other side of the campsite from us.
We had a great time at Camping Fontisson and we hope to return one day in the near future.
