Gravel Night: Beautiful Location but Uncomfortable Experience

Camping Bijela Uvala offered us a mixed experience. Upon arrival, the campsite was quite busy (I know, it's summer break), but the line at the reception moved quickly, and we were given all the necessary information by the friendly staff. However, finding our pitch was a challenge due to poor signage,... and when we finally arrived, we were disappointed to find that our tents had to be set up on gravel. This made it extremely uncomfortable, but also, we couldn’t properly secure our tent stakes, and the ground was harsh to sleep on. To make matters worse, we were situated next to a noisy pool area with little privacy, which significantly detracted from our overall experience. A big plus was that we could park the car on it as well.
On the plus side, beside the fact that we were located next to them, the campsite features several pools, which are great for kids and teenagers, and one of them is located right by the beautiful sea. The beach area is well-maintained, making it easy and enjoyable to take a swim in the sea itself. We also had a delightful meal at the beach restaurant, which also has its own pool. The food was delicious, though they only accept cash, and the selection of local Croatian beers was a treat. In the evening, there was a live performance with classic songs, which we enjoyed with a cold beer in hand.
However, the night was far from peaceful. The campsite was noisy with many young people around, and unfortunately, the staff didn’t seem to enforce any rules to maintain a quiet environment. For €60 a night (for placing a tent!!), we expected more comfort and tranquility. Besides that, it's worth the 60 euro's as you can access all pools, the sea with a boulevard, and more. While the warm showers with rain shower heads were a nice touch, the overall experience was far from ideal for us. That said, I can see how this campsite could appeal to families or groups of friends looking for a lively place with lots of activities.
