Great Campsite on the River Ceze

This was our second trip to Camping Beau Rivage in the Gard. This is a great family campsite on the river Ceze. On the whole it is quiet so don’t expect a lot of entertainment. Franck & Stéphanie are on site every day and are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Stéphanie does speak English. There... is a small pool but it does not get too crowded as many of the campers swim in the clear waters of the river.
The pool is clean and well maintained, sun loungers are provided and there are a few small thatched umbrellas. French pool rules apply – so no baggie/bermuda shorts.
There is no shop, but delicious bread is delivered every day to the pool bar – you need to pre-order the day before. The bar sells a selection of drinks and some ice-cream. You can also get Camping Gaz 904 & 907 refills on site. A pizza van comes to the site twice a weak
The site is clean and toilets and shower facilities are cleaned twice a day. Most pitches have 6A electricity and you can hire fridges. Most of the pitches are average sized - I did manage to get our tent on (7.0mx4.3m), there was still enough outside space and space for the car & trailer. About half of the site is on hill and pitches are flat as the site terraced.
Saint Ambroix is close by and has a weekly market, there are also Intermarche and Carrefour supermarkets less than 10 minutes drive away.
There is lots to do, from cycling (the off road cycling is excellent on the other side of the river), walking, and canoeing and many places to visit from La Cocalière caves (remember to pre-book), to the Roman amphitheatre in Nimes and the Haribo Museum in Uzes. The tree-top walking in “Le Grand Bois” is great fun and excellent value for money!
I would recommend this campsite and will probably visit again.
